Over the past several years, mental health has become the forefront in discussions across the world and in the sports world. Many athletes quietly suffer from mental health trouble and never seek the help they need to help prevent disasters which includes suicide.

In a recent podcast, a negative comment was made about Blue Jackets star Patrik Laine's mental health which many heard and felt that something needed to be done.

Fans across the Columbus Blue Jackets area and others around the world decided to help Laine's charity by donating their hard-earned dollars in a tough time. They raised over $10,000 in short order which will help Laine with his benefit for men's mental health initiatives.

The 25 year old left winger has been battling his share of mental health over the past season. After going second overall in the 2016 entry draft, the pressure has been on his shoulders ever since. In the 2023-2024 season, he has played eighteen games while scoring six goals with three assists for 9 points and is a - 10.

Causes like these continue to help people recognize mental health trouble and help the people that need it the most.
