The Philadelphia Flyers have one game remaining on their schedule and it is Tuesday night in Philadelphia against the Washington Capitals. The Flyers just ended their 8-game losing streak and there is still hope for them to make the playoffs and there is only one path to qualify in 2024.

So now:

* Flyers MUST win in regulation over Caps tomorrow night.

* Red Wings MUST lose in regulation in Montreal tomorrow.

* Penguins MOST lose in regulation on Wed against the Islanders (who just clinched a playoff spot tonight)
In order to qualify for the 2024 playoffs, the Flyers must defeat the Washington Capitals in Philadelphia in regulation. If the Flyers win in overtime or shootout, the Capitals will pass them in points. The Detroit Red Wings must lose to the Montreal Canadiens in Montreal on Tuesday night in regulation. The Red Wings almost suffered a defeat to the Canadiens Monday night but with their goalie pulled was able to tie the game with a little more than a minute remaining in regulation. If, both these scenarios happen the Flyers will still not know if they made the playoffs as they will have to wait until Wednesday night when the Pittsburgh Penguins take on the New York Islanders and the Penguins must lose in regulation. The issue is for the Flyers, is the Islanders just clinched 3rd place in the Metropolitan Division so the game against the Penguins will be meaningless to them. For the Flyers sake, let's hope the Islanders are at least motivated by keeping their long-time division rival the Pittsburgh Penguins out of the playoffs.
