The trade deadline frenzy is underway as the league enters the All-Star break. With front offices finally having time to process and garner their needs, many names are starting to float around. For the Flyers, a key defenseman is a hot commodity among teams contending for a Stanley Cup. If teams want to lure this asset from the Flyers, they will need to meet Danny Briere's asking price.

Veteran defenseman Sean Walker has been a solid backbone for the Flyers defense this season, especially considering the Flyers landed him from the Los Angeles Kings as a "cap dump".
With Walker performing, many contenders are beginning to take notice. Among those teams are the Tampa Bay Lightning, Edmonton Oilers and the Toronto Maple Leafs as they look to make that last addition that can push their team over the edge.
To pry Walker away from Philly, teams are going to have to pay a price. According to Anthony DiMarco, the Flyers are adamant on receiving a first round pick in return for Walker.
«I've been told by a well-placed source that the Flyers are holding firm on a first-round pick in return for Walker.»
