A majority of Philadelphia Flyers can agree that center Sean Couturier is a Flyers legend. Serving as alternate captain, playing over 700 career games with the Flyers while notching 492 points and 300 assists, Couturier has been a staple in the orange and black the past ten seasons. On Saturday night, Couturier was called out by his bench boss, despite a strong performance in the win.
Saturday night saw the Flyers earn their third straight win in a 3-2 thriller against the Seattle Kraken. After the Kraken made a comeback to knot the game up at 2-2, a late goal in the third period by Sean Couturier gave the Flyers the lead and ultimately pushed the Flyers above the Kraken for the win.
After his goal, Couturier showed a great display of emotion after getting chewed out by head coach John Tortorella earlier in the game. When talking to the media postgame, Tortorella gave an insight into Couturier's goal.
Tortorella shows that no player is too big, too old, or too good to receive his criticism. With the Flyers putting themselves in a legitimate spot for a playoff run, Torts explained that the Flyers desperately need Coots to be sharp and consistent down the stretch.
