As the league moves into the All-Star break and teams front offices begin to shift their focus towards the NHL trade deadline, many interesting names among the NHL have floated around trade talks and social media rumors. One big name this season features an arch-rival of the Philadelphia Flyers who has been giving the orange and black fits for the past decade.

According to The Athletic's Rob Rossi, the Pittsburgh Penguins could be moving off of 29-year-old left wing Jake Guentzel if the right deal comes along during the 2024 trade deadline.

«The Penguins need youth and depth, picks and prospects. Guentzel can probably command all three if Dubas creates a market for him. The guess here is he will.»

For teams wanting to acquire the 2022 All-Star, the Penguins are asking for a draft pick, a top prospect, and an NHL-ready player if not more which makes sense as the Penguins attempt to add youth to their team.

Guentzel is still having a fantastic year, recording 49 points thus far on 22 goals and 27 assists with a plus 12 rating. Guentzel has been a massive piece for the Penguins organization during their championship runs in 2016 and 2017, being the third star alongside Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.

Flyers fans would be delighted to see the Penguins lose one of their stars and it would definitely make things easier for the orange and black.
