If you were to imagine some of the best Flyers wingers throughout the organizations existence, a few promising names pop into mind, somebody who is just on the outside of the teams' best in existence is former Flyer Jakub Voracek, who spent over ten years wearing a Philadelphia Flyers jersey.

Voracek's days in Philly were numbered as changes had to be made, and at the time Voracek was traded it seemed like an amazing deal for the Flyers but as usual, it became disappointing quite quickly.

The Flyers traded Voracek to the Columbus Blue Jackets in a one-for-one deal in exchange for their captain, Cam Atkinson. Cam is now a Flyer and injured, he has yet to appear in a single game for the Flyers this season and the Flyers management is keeping his injury a secret from the media.

Voracek put up 56 points during his first stint with the Blue Jackets, Atkinson put up slightly less points tallying up 50, with a few less games played then Voracek had with the Blue Jackets.

Recent news has broke, and it's not looking good for Jakub Voracek, and many doctors are stating it is not the smartest idea to return to playing hockey anytime soon, if ever again.

Jakub Voracek suffered a concussion over one month ago and has yet to be cleared, many studies and tests have been performed on Voracek since, and it's not looking good whatsoever.

The Columbus Blue Jackets general manager released the following statement:

''Jake has had a number of head injuries during his career, and after the most recent was advised by doctors to take some time off to see if his ongoing symptoms subside to the point that will allow him to come back and play. We don't expect a resolution in the near future and will give Jake as much time as he needs as his long-term health is the most important factor here.''

This is tough news to hear not only as a Blue Jackets OR Flyers fan, but as a hockey fan in general.

We are glad Voracek and the doctors are not rushing his return, and suggesting he takes this situation one step at a time, but they are not counting on him to return to hockey in the near future, and are prioritizing his health, as they should!
