The last few weeks have felt like a blur for Flyers fans starting with the shocking trade of Cutter Gauthier to the Carter Hart investigation along with trade talks and contract extensions. While it feels like the Flyers have been the center of the news, this Flyers prospect has been quietly lighting it up in the Ontario Hockey League and was most recently presented with a prestigious award.

Philadelphia Flyers 2023 22nd overall pick Oliver Bonk was awarded OHL Defenseman of the Month on Thursday afternoon after being an absolute scoring machine since his return from the World Junior Championships in late December and early January.

In just 10 games, Bonk has recorded 21 points in a very balanced effort scoring 10 goals and 11 assists in that time. Bonk also has an impressive plus/minus of +14 during those 10 games.
With a total of 38 games played for the Knights this season, Bonk has 51 points on 16 goals and an insane 35 assists. Bonk has been incredible at moving the puck and creating opportunities for his teammates, including another Flyers prospect in Denver Barkey.
A future of Bonk, Barkey, Matvei Michkov, and Samu Tuomaala to go along with Joel Farabee, Travis Konecny, and Owen Tippett feels like there is something special brewing in the Flyers organization within the next few years.
