Philadelphia Flyers fans received disappointing news today as it was announced that star center Sean Couturier will not be returning to play this season. Despite his strong desire to get back on the ice, the Flyers' medical staff made the difficult decision to shut him down.

Couturier has been sidelined for almost two full years now and there was hope that he could make a comeback before the end of the season. However, after extensive evaluations, the medical staff concluded that it was in the best interest of both the player and the team to sit out the remainder of the season.
While it's certainly a blow to the Flyers, the decision was made with the long-term health and well-being of Couturier in mind. The 30-year-old has been a key player for the Flyers, earning the Selke Trophy as the league's top defensive forward before.
Despite this setback, Flyers fans remain #FueledByPhilly and are looking forward to seeing Couturier back on the ice next season, fully healthy and ready to go.
