Breaking News: Boston Bruins Resign Their Captain

Boston Bruins fans can breath a sigh of relief today as they made a huge announcement regarding their captain.

ESPN reports the Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeny has re-signed captain Patrice Bergeron, to a one-year contract extension worth $2,500,000 million dollars. The new deal also has another possible $2,500,000 million in incentives.

The 36 year-old is a five time Selke trophy winner was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the second round 45th overall in the 2003 NHL draft, and was part of the Bruins 2011 Stanley Cup win.

This will be Bergeron's 19th season with the Bruins, Bergeron has 400 goals, and 582 assists with a plus 254 rating in 1,216 career games.
