Cam Atkinson Gets Emotional and Finally Reveals The Injury That's Held Him Back All Year

Cam Atkinson, the Philadelphia Flyers' right winger, spoke out emotionally on the injury that ruined his entire 2022-23 NHL season. With a tear in his eye, Atkinson talked about the misdiagnoses that delayed his recovery. Despite seeking medical help from a specialist in Columbus and at Boston College, it was only after talking with Jack Eichel and Joel Farabee that he was finally diagnosed with a herniated disc.

Atkinson said that he was once told that he might never play again if he didn't address muscle atrophy in his left tricep. After the surgery, he felt much better. The Flyers player got emotional when talking about the year with his injury but vowed to come back stronger.
