Eastern Conference Defensemen Makes NHL History and Sets a New Record

Dahlin is off to a torrid start this 2022-23 season. In fact, he has scored a goal in each of the Sabres first first games. That is an NHL record that not even the great Bobby Orr accomplished.

What many NHL fans may not know is that the Buffalo hockey team is improving and may surprise some opposing teams this season.

They finished last season with a 32-39-11 record for 75 points. While out of playoff contention, they finished the season winning five of their last six games.

They have Owen Power, their first pick from last year's draft added to their roster and he is getting extensive ice time. He is averaging over 21 minutes of ice time indicating that the coaching staff believes he is the real thing.

Also Alex Tuch acquired in the Jack Eichel trade is playing some awesome hockey. He has five goals, one assist in four games.

The Sabres may not make the playoffs again, but they have a much better chance this season than in the past. They have had Eric Comrie in net and he has come through in a huge way to help his team.

He's made almost 40 saves a game in the three games he's been in net. The team has lacked goaltending in the past, so Comrie could be their savior. His save percentage is a respectable .930.

All in all, the Buffalo Sabres appear to be a club ready to make that next step to become a more competitive NHL team

Dahlin, Power, and Tuch can be the catalyst for this team to gain some respectability. They will certainly be in the playoff picture next season if they fail to get there this season.
