The Flyers' surprising season of new energy and surprises took another step on Tuesday night with possibly their most thrilling win of the 2023 season as they defeated the New Jersey Devils 3-2 in overtime. After the Devils came to Philly on November 30 and escaped with an overtime win of their own, the Flyers got revenge of their own in Newark on Tuesday night as Owen Tippett sealed their third straight victory.

Not only is this win another shot of energy in that Flyers locker room that's already starting to believe, but it also pushes the Flyers win streak to three straight games and their point streak to nine straight games. After Tuesday's win, the Flyers sit at 18 wins and 39 points, second in the Metro Division.
"We believe in one another and that's the biggest thingWe come in and compete and we do it because we love one another," said Ryan Poehling.

Also impressive to note, the Flyers have won eight of their last 11 games and are also 6-3 after regulation when last season they finished 5-13 after regulation.

NHL's Goalie of the Week Samuel Ersson had another impressive showing as he recorded 24 saves on 26 shots, with three saves in the overtime period. Ersson has won three of his last four starts with a 93% save percentage.
Offensively, veteran Ryan Poehling led the way as he notched the Flyers first two goals but the highlight of the night was Owen Tippett's overtime winner.
Tippett made a beautiful defensive play as he intercepted the puck from Devils star Jack Hughes, darted towards the net, and breezed one right past Vitek Vanecek to secure the win.
This win also sets up an electric matchup between these two teams in their next meeting which will be the Stadium Series on Feb. 17. Tippett is already anticipating and looking forward to the matchup:
"Knowing the Stadium Series is around the corner, you want to build up to that. They are right down the road and it's always going to be a close gameIt's a fun game to play in."

The Flyers are back at the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday night as they take on the Nashville Predators at 7:00p.m.
