Scott Laughton has just celebrated his 10th NHL season which belongs all to the Philadelphia Flyers. Laughton is a pure product of the Flyers organization where he was drafted in 2012, during the first round 20th pick overall.

The 28-year-old centre has been a career third-line centre for the Flyers his numbers have shown that. This past season, he played 78 games, scored eighteen goals with 25 assists for 43 points and held fifty penalty minutes.
Now with the Flyers in a full-scale rebuild of the team, this experience will be very new for Mr. Laughton. As he has never gone through this before he has expressed to the Flyers organization that he would like to become the face of the team.
Jamey Baskow mentioned on Twitter that Laughton hopes that the young players that are up and coming with the Flyers will have a chance to play playoff hockey shortly.

He is a candidate to become the next Flyers captain in the near future, as he is the only one who holds the assistant in the entire organization. Of course, all decisions regarding who will be captain falls on head coach John Tortorella.
Torts certainly have his favourite players that he has seen. He has expressed that there will be no captain next year as he continues to evaluate his talent pool and which players will buy into his system.
The next date for the Flyers is May 8th. It's where the Flyers will learn which position they will be in on the draft board come the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
