Giroux's Unhappy season in Ottawa

In the offseason, Claude Giroux signed a 3-year, $19.5M deal with the Senators.

The veteran has been doing well this year, with 39 points in 45 games. It is great he is doing well, but does he maybe regret signing there?

The Senators spent some money and draft picks this year to bolster their roster. The bolstered their roster, for sure, by signing Giroux and DeBrincat, but it has led them to a poor 20-22-3 record.

Their 20-22-3 record puts them at the #25 spot in the NHL standings. I wonder if that has anything to do with Giroux being upset on the bench last night.

It is bad enough that they lost 4-1 to the Penguins, but what did the stick do to him?

Giroux got the money he wanted, but I don't think he signed up to play for a team that could end up with a lottery pick.

The Senators are in serious trouble with their cap space, as they may not even be able to afford to extend DeBrincat.

Makes you wonder if Giroux might get shipped away.
