Last night in Montreal, Canada, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens played their respective season-opening games. The only difference between the Maple Leafs and last year's club was the arrival of goalkeeper Matt Murray, who started in goal for the Canadiens, who had a virtually entirely different lineup.

The majority of people would think Murray put up a tremendous performance, but the team in front of him truly let him down; Toronto just did not defend well, allowing the Canadiens several 2 on 1 opportunities that resulted in goals.

Since leaving the Pittsburgh Penguins, Murray has had a difficult three-and-a-half years, and he was hoping to turn things around in a brand-new Leafs uniform while carrying a lot of pressure from the Toronto media.
The game was tied, eighteen seconds on the clock, and the Canadiens scored to take the win.
