Ethan Bear, a former defenseman for the Edmonton Oilers, and his family have lately been going through a difficult time as a result of a loss in the family.
The Vancouver Canucks made Ethan Bear a healthy scratch the other night. Many people assumed a trade was on the cards, but the actual reason became clear a day later when the Bear family lost their dog. John Tortorella left the NHL two years ago for the same reason.Unfortunately, Ethan and the Bear family have faced a lot of criticism for Ethan's decision to step down due to the death of their dog. A former Toronto radio host gave Ethan a harsh critique, and it's simply not fair.
