The thought of a NHL coach's son playing in the league certainly warrants a feel-good story.

Recently, Peter Laviolette III, veteran NHL coach Peter Laviolette's son signed a contract with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers, an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Laviolette III, 24, is a native of Wheeling, West Virginia and played his college hockey in NCAA III with Plymouth State University in Plymouth, Michigan.
The six-foot-four, Lavy, as his teammates call him, played five seasons with Plymouth State; over 105 games, the forward scored 35 goals, 32 assists for 67 NCAA III points.

The younger Laviolette has the advantage of being familiarized with the NHL. According to a quote from Washington Hockey Now's Sammi Silber's article.
I've always been in an NHL locker room because of my dad,» said the younger Laviolette. « And I've always been able to see it from like a kid's standpoint and an outsider's standpoint.»
Will the younger Laviolette, join his father as the second Peter Laviolette to grace an NHL organization?
