On Monday night, the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles suffered a crushing loss to the Seattle Seahawks that is in jeopardy of destroying their entire season. With much of Philadelphia distraught, fans are turning towards the Flyers to be a beacon of hope.
Going into the 2023-24 NHL season, many Flyers fans weren't as thrilled as they were in years past, understandably so as they just saw their team come off back to back losing years. But after seeing the Philadelphia Phillies lose in the MLB Playoffs and the Eagles' season beginning to crumble, fans are all focused on the Flyers.
Two straight wins, eight game point streak, most points in the NHL since Nov. 7 and just the overall improvement and excitement the team has shown thus far has engaged the interest of Philadelphia; and has led to some funny tweets.
Although it's still extremely early in the season, seeing Philadelphia fans fired up about the Flyers is something hockey hasn't seen for a few years and could give this young Flyers squad even more of an energy boost as the season progresses.
