Team USA benches their blue line MVP for a Flyers prospect

During the IIHF World Hockey Championships, there has been a surprising development as Lane Hutson, a highly regarded NHL defensive prospect, has been benched.

This unexpected move creates an opportunity for one of the Philadelphia Flyers' other prospects to step up and take his place on the team.

I'm not there, so not exactly sure why Hutson is sitting, but Ronnie Attard was good enough to deserve being back in the lineup.

USA should win this, so might just taking it as a chance to rest some guys. Keep everyone fresh.

While Hutson is on the bench, this opens up a chance for another Flyers defense prospect to make an impact in the Worlds.

Ronnie Attard, who has only played in a handful of games in his career and spent most of his season with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, has already proven to be a solid choice despite being a scratch. In fact, he even contributed a point against Germany recently.

As the IIHF competition continues, we'll be keeping a close eye on Attard to see if he has what it takes to help lead Team America to victory.
