The search continues for the Flyers' new president of hockey operations. Before this, the president's job and the GM were held by former GM Chuck Fletcher. He held the position for four years and seeing the team going nowhere in terms of development and improvement they released him from the job they decided to create this position as two separate ones.

Many teams have this style of management as the president would hold the portfolio of working with the governors and the company itself that owned the team and the general manager would be responsible for the players on the ice and the construction of the lineup.
Both individuals need to be on the same page when they enter the rebuilding phase. Numerous names have appeared on the radar for the Flyers and two in particular are very interesting.
32 Thoughts podcaster and Sportsnet insider Elliot Friedman spoke about
Emilie Castonguay is it possible candidate for the president's job.

Castonguay, Made it clear that she has no intention of leaving the Vancouver Canucks organization as assistant general manager during the interview with Friedman. Another name that surfaced is Cammi Granato.
Granato is the younger sister of former NHLer and coach Tony Granato. She also holds the position of assistant GM with the Canucks and could be a candidate for the role.
It remains to be seen who will fill this job for the Flyers, but I feel that their resumes must speak volumes in terms of being able to run a team properly and understanding the NHL and drafting.
The hire will also need to decide on interim general manager Danny Briere. He currently holds the job but on an interim basis only, it's expected that he will be announced as the next GM but that hasn't happened yet.
