Flyers right wing and 2023-24 All-Star Travis Konecny is undoubtedly the heartbeat of the Philadelphia Flyers this season and is on pace to produce the best season of his eight year career thus far. Despite his success, Konecny has missed the last four games with an injury, and the Flyers have felt the effects going 1-2 during that time. As Konecny inches closer to a return, Flyers general manager Danny Briere gave an update regarding the 26-year-old right wing on Friday afternoon.

On Friday afternoon, first reported by prominent NHL insider Kevin Kurz, the Flyers and Danny Briere are expecting a return from Konecny within the coming week, possibly as soon as tomorrow for the Flyers matchup with the Ottawa Senators.
"Briere says with Konecny, they're hopeful he could be back in the lineup after the weekend. Seems like they're shooting for next Thursday realistically."

Simply put, the Flyers go as Konecny goes and are a better team with him on the ice. Tortorella echoed this sentiment after the Flyers loss to the Penguins as the bench boss said that they miss him "dearly". Not only is Konecny's return great for the Flyers, but it comes at a time when the team is in desperate need as they saw four players hit the IR in the past week, including young star defenseman Jamie Drysdale.
Konecny also brings a special energy both on the ice and in the locker room as he has stepped into his role as a leader this season, which was recognized when John Tortorella named him alternate captain just three weeks ago.
Although they are expecting after the weekend, ESPN has listed Konecny's expected return as March 2, tomorrow, on the official Flyers injury report. Could we see number 11 back on the ice come tomorrow afternoon?
