As the trade deadline continues to tick away with only five days remaining, Flyers management have been working the phones and listening to offers on their players. But general manager Danny Briere and his management team also have been doing other business that needs to be attended to.

Moments ago, the Flyers made it official that they have locked up forward prospect Denver Barkey to a three-year entry level contract which will begin in 2024-2025.
Barkey, was drafted in 2023, in the third round 95th overall. The 18 year old centre has been stated by eliteprospects.com as a passer and has a fantastic ability in stick handling. He also has a high hockey IQ and knowing where to be in the offensive zone.
Currently playing for the London Knights in the oh HL, he has played 56 games, scored 31 goals of 56 assists for 87 points with 24 penalty minutes. He holds a + 38.
This is fantastic news for the Flyers and their fans as the team continues to stockpile draft picks and prospects who will become the next generation Flyers team. I would expect Barkey to be on the Flyers within the next two seasons.
