Over the course of the last 18 months, the Flyers have been rebuilding their team under the leadership of Daniel Briere but not in the traditional sense.

Instead of loading up on draft picks, it seems that Briere's main focus is improving the culture after the hard times that involved the ending of Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek's time as Flyers.
The focus on the culture is why they re-signed a 31-year-old Nick Seeler and went to get an aging Erik Johnson at the trade deadline. Briere is avoiding rebuiding the traditional way of over-loading on picks and hoping to draft well as that system clearly has holes with teams Buffalo and Ottawa on their 2nd rebuild in 5 years.
"Here's the thing: the culture was a major issue following the pandemic. You don't need to be a fly on the wall or have a wiretap in Voorhess to have seen the on-ice issues post 2019-20. The toxicity behind the scenes were palpable in the final years of the Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek era. As General Manager Daniel Briere alluded to in his media availability post-deadline, you need to have a good culture instilled in addition to talent."

By changing the culture while having solid young talent in the pipeline such as Emil Andrae, Bobby Brink, Tyson Foerster, Alexei Kolosov and Cam York, the future of the Flyers seem to be in good hands.
Even though they are rebuilding, they still hold a playoff spot and will likely give a tough battle to whoever their opponent ends up being in the first round.
