Giroux Too Soft To Lead Flyers?

"The Philadelphia Flyers season comes to an end this weekend and the Flyers won't be heading to the playoffs. The Flyers will be missing the playoffs for the second time in the last three seasons and fourth time in the last seven seasons. As the team gets ready to close out the season, some questions are being raised about the team's leadership group. While both captain Claude Giroux and new general manager Chuck Fletcher have defended the leadership group at times this season, Sam Carchidi of the Philly Inquirer believes it's time for a reality check. The Flyers beat reporter states that Wayne Simmonds was the real ""get in your face"" type leader in the clubhouse while Giroux is more of a quiet lead by example guy. The quiet lead by example guy clearly isn't getting it done when it comes to motivating his teammates for big games. Carchidi points out that nobody cares more about losing than Giroux, however it's clear Giroux isn't able to motivate his teammates before games looking at all the Flyers slow starts.
