"After a disappointing 2016-17 season and some offseason trade rumors, Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux has come back with a vengeance. Giroux's bounce back season has been so loud, that he's one of the top candidates for the Hart Trophy.Earlier this morning, the NHL announced that it had credited Claude Giroux with an assist on Michael Raffl's goal last night. The scoring change means that Giroux now sits with 99 points on the season, the second highest scorer in the NHL behind Connor McDavid with 106. He's also put together one of the great offensive performances in Flyer history. While he's far from matching Mark Recchi's franchise mark of 123 points during the 1992-93 season, he now sits in ninth place overall with a chance to tie Rick MacLeish's 100 point season from 1972-73 which sits eighth all time.
