Flyers general manager Danny Briere has made it clear that the Flyers goal is to build through the draft and develop young players. Everyone is talking about Matvei Michkov, who has been great in Russia. However, there is one young Flyers prospect tearing it up in the OHL and that's Denver Barkey.

Denver Barkey (32), what a shot.

Barkey has 92 points (32G/60A) through 59 games played 3rd in points in the entire OHL.
Barkey was drafted by the Flyers just last year in the 3rd round, 95th overall. The 18 year old has played in 59 games and is currently 3rd in points in the entire OHL with 32 goals, 61 assists and 93 total points, with a plus 40 on-ice rating. Barkey is on the smaller size as he is only 5' 9" and 154 pounds, which could be why he fell to the 3rd round. Earlier this month he signed a 3-year entry level contract, which means we could see him at least in the AHL by this year or next. Either way, the future looks bright for this young prospect.
