This season, for the most part, has been an enjoyable one for the Philadelphia Flyers and their fans. From being projected to be the worst team in the NHL to currently sitting in third place in the Metro Division with a realistic shot at the 2024 NHL Playoffs, Flyers fans are beginning to see the flowers of the process bloom. The past few weeks, however, has seen the Flyers struggle as they have lost five of their past seven games in a time when they desperately need to rack up wins in a race for the playoffs. Following Saturday's loss, the Flyers head coach gave his thoughts on the team's performance and the future of the season.

Despite a last-minute effort, the Flyers fell just short of completing a comeback against the NHL leading Boston Bruins as they fell 6-5 in what was an offensively entertaining matchup. Although some fans look at the game as a moral victory as the Flyers were able to skate with the best team in the NHL, John Tortorella is pumping the breaks on the 'moral victory' talk.
"We've got to be really careful with the moral victories here. I appreciate how hard we worked and kept on playing. We've got to find a way to get points. Certainly not enough guys going consistently. Important guys, consistently."

Tortorella hit the nail on the head. Moral victories are great and the team has definitely exceeded expectations, but this is the time of year where teams need to prove they belong in the playoff picture and consistently play well, which the Flyers have not been doing.
Defensively, the Flyers are bleeding as Sean Walker was sent to the Colorado Avalanche in a trade and Nick Seeler and Jamie Drysdale are out with injuries and it has been evident since as the Flyers have allowed 21 goals in the last four games.
The Flyers still sit at third in the Metro, but with each loss the standings get tighter and tighter as the New York Islanders and the Washington Capitals are on their heels trailing by just three points.
With the Flyers underperforming, will they find themselves out of the Playoff picture come April?
