On Sunday morning, the first domino of the 2018 Team Canada World Junior's team investigation has dropped as former NHL player and Team Canada member Alex Formenton turned himself into police in London, Ontario.

Formenton is among five NHL/former NHL players who have been ordered to surrender to the London Police, a statement issued last week. Among the players asked to surrender is Flyers star goalie Carter Hart.

Although nothing is official yet and no charges have been made, the future does not look good for Hart as a member of the Flyers as he requested and was granted a leave of absence for the foreseeable future last week.

For Alex Formenton, the former Ottawa Senator and his lawyer issued a statement to the Associated Press, saying that they are going to fight the charges and defend his innocence.

"Alex will vigorously defend his innocence and asks that people not rush to judgment without hearing all of the evidence."

London Police has a press conference scheduled for the morning of Feb. 5 as they plan to update the media and the general public on the ongoing investigation.
