As the press and public learned more details today involving the 2018 Team Canada hockey investigations with the players appearing before court and the London Police Department addressing the media for the first time since the investigation, more suspensions are in place from Hockey Canada.

Following the press conference and court hearings, Hockey Canada announced that in addition to the five players involved in the investigation, all players, coaches, and members of the 2018 Canada Team are suspended from all Hockey Canada sanctioned events for the foreseeable future.

"This statement says that ALL players from the 2018 Canadian WJC team remain suspended by Hockey Canada, and are ineligible to play, coach, officiate or volunteer with Hockey Canada-sanctioned programs."

This is a massive development as the NHL most recently announced that in replacement of the 2025 NHL All-Star game, the NHL will host it's first ever in-season tournament called The Four Nations Faceoff, with Canada being one of the countries represented in the tournament.

It says that the suspensions do not include the tournament, but decisions have yet to be made regarding the 2026 Winter Olympics in northern Italy.

"This does not include a suspension for next year's Four Nations Faceoff, as that event that will be run by the NHL/NHLPA. It remains unclear if exceptions will be made if the suspensions remain through the 2026 Olympics."
