Former Flyers favourite crosses another milestone

The career of former Flyers captain Claude Giroux continues to impress and knock down milestones as his career continues to move forward.

After passing his thousand points earlier this year, Giroux can add 700 assists to his resume as the Senators played the New York Rangers last night.

The 36-year-old has been enjoying his time in Ottawa as last year he played all 82 games, scoring 35 goals with 44 assists for 79 points and was a plus 4. He's hoping to duplicate or move beyond those numbers this year but with the Ottawa Senators struggling and virtually out of the playoff hunt it's now become more of a statistical want then trying to win as many hockey games as possible.

Several of his teammates including captain Brady Tkachuk gave high praise for Giroux and what he brings to the team.

Flyers fans can say they've witnessed most of those assists as Giroux spent the bulk of his career with the Flyers from 2007 through 2022.
