Special Gretzky memorabilia on the auction block for eye watering price

Many hockey fans across the NHL are avid collectors of hockey cards, jerseys, hats and many more items that will fill their man caves and hockey rooms. The amount of money spent is incredible and depending on what is bought could be quite valuable.

It was announced by B/R open ice that a case of hockey cards from 1979 has been put to auction and holds a very special card.


The Gretzky rookie card is one of the most sought-after hockey cards in collectors throughout the world. It's incredible to think there are 16 unopened boxes with 48 packs of cards each sitting waiting to be looked at and held by someone for their collection.


It remains to be seen on how high this collection will go but it currently stands at $1 million. Certainly, if money was no object, it would be worth looking at as that card would hold tremendous value.
