The NHL 2023-2024 regular season has come to an end and every offseason, there are head coaches that are fired and hired. One of the first head coaches to be named, is Buffalo Sabres head coach as Lindy Ruff has been hired to fill that role.

How we feeling about this Sabre Nation??
Lindy Ruff was the head coach of Flyers division rival the New Jersey Devils from 2020-2024. He also served as the Dallas Stars head coach and he also coached the Buffalo Sabres previously starting in 1997 then was fired during the 2012-2013, so this is his 2nd stint in Buffalo. Not only is this his 2nd stint in Buffalo as a head coach, he also played for the Sabres when he was a player in the NHL. Ruff has not coached in Buffalo in more than a decade, however he is still the last coach to take the Sabres to the postseason, as the Sabres have set an NHL record for most consecutive seasons without a postseason berth. The Sabres last postseason game, actually came against the Philadelphia Flyers in Philadelphia on April 26, 2011, as the Flyers won that game which was Game 7 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. For the Sabres' sake, let's hope that Ruff is also the next coach to take the Sabres to the playoffs.
