The NHL season is coming to an end as there is only a handful of games remaining. The first half of the season, the Flyers seemed to have their goaltender situation solved, however, with Carter Hart going on leave and Sam Ersson struggling mightily, that all changed quickly. One possibility would be for the Flyers to acquire the Anaheim Ducks goaltender John Gibson.

The Anaheim Ducks are one of the worst teams in the NHL, so they will likely be shopping Gibson. On the year, he is 13-26-2 with a .890 save percentage and a 3.48 GAA. These numbers do not seem great, but a change of scenery could help Gibson a ton. The save percentage is actually better than the Flyers goaltenders since mid-January as the Flyers have had the worst save percentage in the NHL since then. Right now, only Sam Ersson is under contract for the Flyers, however, they could very well sign Ivan Fedotov to be the backup. Either way, the Flyers goaltenders next year must be better than they have been the last three months if they want to compete in the NHL playoffs.
