As of late, wins are hard to come by for the Philadelphia Flyers. Many are trying to give reasons, why they are struggling so much as of late. Some have issues with John Tortorella not blaming himself for the Flyers lack of wins in the recent weeks. Per NHL Trade Rumors, recently on SportsCenter Bryan Hayes called out John Tortorella.

Bryan Hayes said, "It's never John Tortorella's fault, it's always someone else's fault. It was Sean Couturier, the captain's fault at one point. It's been the goaltenders' fault multiple times...it's the players' issues, it's the softness, it's the second period, it's the media...it's never [John Tortorella's] issue, it's somebody else's."
John Tortorella over the years has been very blunt on what the issues are with the current team he is coaching. He has never shy away from holding players accountable. You can make the case, that he was blaming Couturier for the team's struggles, however, it is not incorrect to say that Sean Couturier was struggling himself prior to being scratched. Also, the Flyers backup goalie situation since Carter Hart went on leave has been abysmal. Felix Sandstrom was struggling in the AHL and was called up because Cal Petersen was not even playable. Lastly, that 2nd period against the Islanders, may have been one of the worst periods, the Flyers have played all season.
Also, just recently, during a press conference, John Tortorella stated on their recent struggles "I have not done a good enough job to get them over the hump." It seems, Tortorella knows the players and himself need to be better if the team wants to get into the playoffs.
