Further Clarity on Sean Walker Situation

Sean Walker's name comes up with a new team looking to trade for him every day. This is no surprise to Flyers fans as he has played tremendously for the Flyers and is on the last year of his contract. He is the prototypical rental player, that a team may try to sign long term after dealing for him.
Per NHL Insider Elliot Freidman, he does not expect the Flyers to sign Walker long term, and they will seek out the best possible return for him.
Friedman on NHL Network: "I think (Sean) Walker is less likely to be signed, not because they don't want him, just because I think ever since Drysdale got there, I think you could see where this could potentially go. For Walker, I've heard Edmonton, I've heard Tampa. I always wonder about Toronto for defensemen, Toronto is looking for D, but I think Walker is going to be out there
It seems with the addition of Jamir Drysdale, the need for Walker is no longer as big as it was before the season. With Cam York, Jamie Drysdale, Risto, and Seeler, the Flyers may feel signing Walker may be a luxury instead of a need. Still Walker has played well this year. His stats (5G, 12A 17Points) do not do him justice for the constant stable presence he is on the ice. Wherever he ends up will be getting a very underrated, possibly bargain defenseman!
