Wednesday night was a special night for Scott Laughton as head coach John Tortorella announced that Scott Laughton would remain alternate captain of the Flyers due to his tough play, relentless leadership, and dedication to winning. Despite the achivement, Laughton's future in Philadelphia remains uncertain leading up the trade deadline as many teams remain to be in the market for a center.
It has already been reported that a number of teams have been interested in Laughton including the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, and Vancouver Canucks. Friday morning, another team has been reported to join the mix on Laughton and have shown interest in the center.
Laughton has been playing at an extremely high level since the All-Star break, scoring a goal in two of the five games, only raising the stock on the Flyers center. It was reported that the asking prie for Laughton is a first round pick, but that could increase.
From the lack of available centers in the market along with being named alternate captain and his stellar play of late, the asking price for Laughton may increase as Danny Briere may be reluctant to deal Laughton.
