It seems like the Toronto Maple Leafs have been in the national spotlight as far as skirmishes go for the past week after Morgan Rielly was suspended after going after the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night. On Thursday night, the Flyers and Maple Leafs exchanged blows in the third period as a Flyers left wing came to his teammates defense.

Ten minutes into the third period, Maple Leafs defenseman Simon Benoit slammed Flyers youngster Cam York into the boards, which is turning out to be somewhat serious as York was unable to return to the game and his status is unknown for Saturday's Stadium Series game against the New Jersey Devils.
Immediately after seeing his teammate smushed into the boards, Flyers left wing Nic Deslauriers immediately came to York's defense and went after Benoit, inciting a scrum.
Despite losing in overtime on a William Neylander goal, the Flyers showed plenty of fight and gave fans an exciting night on Thursday. After falling behind 3-1, two quick goals by Garnett Hathaway and Travis Konecny tied the game with under five minutes left in the third period.
The Flyers were still able to keep their point streak alive, earning a point in five straight games, every game since the All-Star break.
Saturday night the 2024 Flyers will appear before a national stage as they take on rival New Jersey Devils in the 2024 Stadium Series, held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
