Several weeks ago, the Vancouver Canucks were able to pull off a great trade with the Calgary Flames where several future pieces were sent to the beleaguered franchise in which the Canucks were able to acquire Elias Lindholm.

Many felt that this was the big move that Vancouver was looking to do and that if they were to be still active in the deadline, they would be acquiring a smaller move as they have exhausted much of their draft capital.
Fast forward to tonight and it appears that a major shift may be happening in the Canucks thinking. Lindholm has been with the team for 14 games and has not created the offence that many thought he would. It seems that this lack of production has general manager Patrik Allvin turning his attention to the Pittsburgh Penguins and Jake Guentzel.
Chris Johnston of TSN feels that a potential mega deal between the Boston Bruins, Penguins and Canucks could see Lindholm heading to Boston and Guentzel heading to the Canucks could be materializing within the next few days. The Penguins also announced that they would like to have a Guentzel trade in place by the end of March 6th.
It's been a long time since the NHL has seen a potential mega trade that used to be commonplace especially during the 1990s. As the situation remains fluid, it should be an exciting next 48 hours for many fanbases as their teams will begin to transform.
