The Blue Jackets took the ice against the Carolina Hurricanes in their season opener on Wednesday night.

The score was tied after the 1st period, but that quickly changed once the 2nd period started.
11 seconds into the 2nd period, the Blue Jackets got on the board, courtesy of a Patrik Laine sniper.

Laine left the game short after with an apparent arm injury.
Laine is expected to have tests done on his arm later on Thursday, but he was not seen on the ice at practice this morning.
Laine is considered day-to-day until test results come back on his arm.
