It's officially March and the Flyers are on the crash course for the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Does that sound right? In a year that was expected to be another year of a rebuild under Danny Briere and Keith Jones, many predicted the Flyers to finish last in every category in the NHL and be in contention for the number one overall pick. Instead, the Flyers are playing some of their best hockey in years, sitting at third in the Metro Division with an over 80% chance to make the postseason. Sunday night, the Flyers received some additional help in the standings

Currently in the Metropolitan Division, the Philadelphia Flyers sit at third place with 71 points in 62 games with a 32-23-7 record. Trailing behind the Flyers are the New York Islanders, Washington Capitals, and the New Jersey Devils who are all just separated by one game from each other.
There is currently five points of separation between the Flyers and the Islanders. Definitely some good space between the teams but the Flyers are going to need to create as much space as possible with their tough schedule coming up if they want to make the playoffs.
Sunday night, the Flyers created space in the standings without even taking the ice.

Sunday night saw the Penguins, Capitals, and the New Jersey Devils all go home with ugly losses as the Flyers created even more separation in the standings thanks to the Kings, Coyotes, and Oilers.
With the Flyers creating space in the standings, will they be seeing postseason hockey in Philly for the first time in person since 2018?
