In the early days of the Danny Briere - Keith Jones era, the Flyers one prospect's name kept coming up in rumors and stories on the web of who the Flyers were looking for to acquire and bolster their prospect pool.

Massimo Rizzo was highly touted and after several weeks he became part of the Flyers organization on August 9th 2023. His rights were moved along with a fifth-round pick in 2025 to the Flyers in exchange for the rights of David Kase.
Unfortunately, news tonight broke from Denver University that Rizzo will be out week to week with a lower body injury.
In his third year with the university, he had played 28 games while scoring 10 goals with 34 assists for 44 points with 10 penalty minutes and is a + 24. The 22-year-old centre who stands at 5' 10» 180 lbs was drafted by the Hurricanes in the seventh round, 216th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
As the exact injury has not been announced, Flyers management hopes it's not too serious and that he will be eligible to play for the team next year.
