2023-24 has been a rough year for veteran right wing Cam Atkinson. After having a solid 11 seasons in Columbus with his best coming under John Tortorella's coaching, many expected Atkinson to have a resurgence and be a key part of the Flyers offense. After a 2023-24 that has seen Atkinson have massive pointless streaks, many believe his time in Philly may be ticking.

Atkinson missed the entirety of the 2022-23 season after getting off to a hot start in his first year reunited with John Tortorella. This season has been a different story however, as Atkinson has just 28 points, on 15 assists and 13 goals this season.
When meeting with the media on Thursday, John Tortorellla commented on Atkinson's struggles this season, and hinted that Atkinson's time may be up, if not ticking down in Philly.
"If you play well, you're going to get more minutes. If you play really bad, you're out, and I'm going to try someone else, and you're going to have to wait your turn. It's pretty simple."

Atkinson is rumored to be a healthy scratch in the Flyers coming game against the Capitals, as John Tortorella further echoes his point that Atkinson will have to "wait his turn".
Atkinson isn't getting any younger at 34-years-old and is on a contract with around a $5M AAV that also contains a no-trade clause surrounding ten teams. As Danny Briere and the Flyers are just a week away from the March 8 deadline, Atkinson could be a piece the Flyers try to unload as they begin the next phase of their process and could begin working on extensions for Travis Konecny and Nick Seeler.
Will the Flyers find a buyer for the 34-year-old right wing by next Friday.
