Since the 2023 NHL Draft, it has felt like every Flyers fan has been talking about top prospect Matvei Michkov, and for good reason. The first round pick is currently lighting up the KHL with a historic season, with over 40 points and 18 goals on the year thus far. Someone who isn't being talked about as much as Michkov is having a spectacular season in the OHL and is a numbers machine this season. His latest assist on Monday was one to add to the highlight reels.
Flyers 2023 third round pick Denver Barkey is an outstanding talent and has been carrying the London Knights of the OHL this season, alongside teammate and Flyers prospect Oliver Bonk. In 51 games, Barkey has compiled 79 points on 51 assists and 28 goals.
As the two were quickly skating up the ice, Barkey seemed to time his pass perfectly as he got it around the defender and to his teammate for the goal.
Barkey is quickly proving to be a great pick for the Flyers and could potentially be the offensive star so many fans have been saying the Flyers are missing.
