Saturday night was an action-packed night in the NHL. From 13 games of action to chaos in the Battle of Ontario and a potential Stanley Cup Final matchup, the NHL was the center of attention on Saturday night. One topic that had fans buzzing on Saturday night were some sweet throwback threads dawned by an Eastern Conference powerhouse.

On Saturday night, the Carolina Hurricanes hosted "Whalers Night", as they honored the Hartford Whalers and dawned their sweet throwback threads, wearing the green and blue in an arena that's used to red and black.
Not only did the players wear the uniforms, the entire franchise brought the vintage aesthetic as the Hurricanes changed their entire social media to a retro vibe that was a cool sight for old-school hockey fans. Photoshoots included players wearing vintage headbands, cassette tape players, and anything in between that resembled the times of the Whalers.
The vintage threads seemed to have brought some magic to the Hurricanes as they defeated the New Jersey Devils in a 1-0 overtime defensive thriller as goalie Pyotr Kochetkov pitched a 34 save shutout.
