Over the past couple of days, general manager and president Kyle Dubas of the Pittsburgh Penguins has made statements that changes are coming to his team after the team has gone sour and the playoffs appear to be out of reach.

With their aging core and their Cup window closed it's clear that Dubas needs to begin his overhaul which began today with the trade of Alex Nylander and a conditional sixth round pick in 2026 to the Columbus Blue Jackets for depth forward Emil Bemstrom.
As NHL news reports, the Penguins would send a third-round choice in 2026 if Bemstrom gets six goals for the rest of this season with Pittsburgh. Alex, has been a far cry from his brother William of the Toronto Maple Leafs as he was drafted in 2016 in the first round eight pick overall.
Having played for three NHL organizations, he has played 98 games, with 14 goals and 20 assists for 34 points and is a - 10.
Bemstrom, will be an upgrade for the Penguins bottom 6 as he gives them penalty killing and defensive duties.
I expect much more to come from Dubas and the Flyers neighbors in the coming weeks and months.
