For the past few seasons, Flyers right wing Travis Konecny has been a lone bright spot in what has been a long rebuild for Flyers fans. This season, Konecny is having by far the best season of his career as he was selected to his second career All-Star appearance and is on pace to record the most points in the history of his career. With the success Konecny has shown on the ice, one Eastern Conference contender with Flyers ties has taken notice to Konecny and his abilities.

According to prominent NHL reporter Pierre LeBrun, the Carolina Hurricanes and head coach Rod Brindamour have not only been interested in Konecny as of late, but have shown interest a number of time throughout the past year.
The Hurricanes pursuing the Flyers superstar does make sense for Carolina as he fits Brindamours coaching philosophy that focuses on having strong forward lines for sustained success, but it is not going to be easy for Carolina to pry Konecny away from Philadelphia.
Konecny is by far the Flyers most elite player and has shown that when he is having success, the rest of the team follows. Konecny is on pace for his first 70 plus point season as he sits with 54 points on 27 goals and 27 assists thus far on the season.
Not only is Konecny elite in the stat sheet, but Konecny is perfect for the city of Philadelphia. Konecny has fully embraced the underdog mentality and plays with a chip on his shoulder and is a tremendous vocal leader, which is why John Tortorella recently named him alternate captain.
